N. Kreditz Arcade MiniGame

Once you’ve viewed the Rating screen and pressed start you’ll be whisked away to the games ending credits, however you’ll hardly be in for a carefree read. Instead, you’ll be in store for one final surprise slide! As the credits scroll upward you’ll be tasked with collecting the golden coins scattered down the slide, you’ll have to avoid Oil Slicks and Springy Spikes in the process. You’ll also find Zippers placed on the slide which can give you a helpful boost ahead, though you may miss coins if you choose to do so. As soon as the credits finish the slide will come to an end, as the coins you’ve collected as well as your progress is saved and you’re booted back to the Title Screen.

So, what was that all about then? Remember that Spillerston Arcade Machine in Spiller’s Harbor we retrieved the Squit’s UFO from? We can actually use our collected coins to activate the machine and play several minigames. You’ll find that the minigames are the ones you’ve completed throughout your adventure such as Sheep Dip and Battle Boats, except now you’re free to play them whenever you’d like. The grand total you’ll need to unlock all of the minigames is 160 coins, because the length of the credits are relatively short you’ll most likely need to make multiple trips down the slide, which means beating Gruntilda in her tower to view the ending.

In order to start up the machine, approach the arcade cabinet and press A, doing so will bring up the following menu. Use the control pad to highlight a game and press A to play it. All of the games require a certain number of coins to play which can be found to the right of the ‘?????’ when a game is unavailable. The Egg Scramble mini-game from Cliff Farm is worth 20 coins, the Sheep Dip mini-game from Farm Heights is worth 40 coins, Battle Boats featured in Breegul Beach is worth 60 coins and Grubby Chute from Breegul Peak is worth 80 coins. Select the Next option at the bottom of the screen for the next selection.

Here’s where things can get pricey! The Magic Angler minigame from Bad Magic Bayou is worth 100 coins, Mr. Ripovski’s Slide O’ Fear from Spiller’s Harbor gets an even bigger profit at 120 coins, the Frozen Fish minigame from Freezing Furnace is priced at 140 coins and lastly the Snowy Sleds minigame also from Freezing Furnace is valued at a whopping 160 coins. The arcade doesn’t keep score, so there’s little point in collecting the titles aside from striving to get 100% completion. If you’ve been following this far though, it means that you’ve managed to stop Grunty from destroying the past and future, congratulations!
