So Long, Sun-speckled shores

Once we’ve left Breegul Beach let’s head to the south until we drop off the ledge and into the grassy portion of Spiral Mountain. We’ll walk to the right until we reach Bozzeye’s mole hill and then we’ll head north to get to the three ledges. Once you’ve jumped over the ledges, carry on to the right until you reach the Jinjo Oracle and then drop down below and continue walking south to find the Jiggy Temple. Turn right as the fence ends and head north to gain access to the Temple.

Jiggywiggy’s Temple

At 22 Jiggies we’ve really made a lot of progress, and makes the current regime of 14 Jiggies look something of a joke. Let’s enter the Temple and get ready to open our next world: Bad Magic Bayou. After you’ve entered inside the Temple you’ll have to go through the process that we’ve done every time now; go up the stairs on either side of the Temple and speak with the Jiggy Priest. Once the Jiggy Priest opens the doorway below the arch, continue down the stairs, approach the Jiggy Pad and press A. Once you’ve unlocked Bad Magic Bayou you’ll notice that we’re only a mere 2 Jiggies away from unlocking the next world, what rotten luck! Let’s head south and exit the Temple.

Spiral Mountain

Once you’ve left the Temple find your way back up to the Jinjo Oracle and then continue north to the vines located behind it and climb to Spiral Rise.

Spiral Rise

Once we enter Spiral Rise we’ll follow what will eventually evolve into tradition as we head to the north to enter Honey B’s Hive. It wasn’t just Blue Shells and Jiggies we searched the shore for at Breegul Beach, as we picked up 2 Empty Honeycombs which brings our grand total to 5 Empty Honeycomb Pieces, well over the required 4. The Witch’s Keep in Breegul Beach is unlikely the last place we’ll run into Gruntilda, so it’s important that we stay on top of our game so Gruntilda doesn’t get an unfair edge. That said, let’s approach Honey B’s Hive and nab a health unit extension!

Honey B’s Hive

Once inside, walk north through the sticky honey path to its end and you’ll find Honey B, press A once you reach front of the counter in order to trade off your hard earned combs for an extension. With our newly added extension our current health now tops off at 6 Honeycomb units, and with Gruntilda growing in power we’ll have to do the same. Unfortunately for now it looks like we won’t be able to get another extension yet though, as our current collection of 5 just doesn’t compare to the requirement of 8. I suppose we’ll have to wait a little longer for a power trip. Let’s leave the Hive to return to Spiral Mountain.

Spiral Rise

Once we’re outside we’ll have to earn one of the most infuriating Jiggies in the entire game. It will take many tries, but once you nail it, it’ll be worth it. First, walk to your left until you come across the Spiral Mountain bridge, take it over the water and then ascend Spiral Mountain. At the top is a Jiggy Switch that you’ll need to Pack Whack, in turn a Jiggy will pop up far to the right and you’ll be timed in order to get it. This Jiggy will make you angry, but once you practice how to get it, you’ll eventually acquire it.

Instead of whacking the switch right off, stand directly to the right of it and turn to face it. This will give you less running to do as well as lining you up perfectly with the Spiral Mountain bridge. As soon as you trigger the switch a cutscene will show the Jiggy pop up above a pillar at the far right side of Spiral Rise. As the cutscene works its way back to you, hold the L button. Once you’re allowed to control quickly press the the R button and jump to your right. You will now be in Talon Trot mode which is required to get you to the Jiggy in time, as well since you’re parralel with the Jiggy Switch when you jump off you’ll be lined up with the bridge which let’s you run instead of plopping you into the water.

Once you’ve touched down you’ll have to run using the Talon Trot to the right, be sure to avoid the Gruntling here as you will mess up if you hit him. Once you’ve detoured accordingly, jump onto the pillars using your Talon Trot and pressing A. As soon as you land on the last pillar, switch Talon Trot mode off and crouch using R and press A. If all goes well you’ll end up Flip Flapping up to the Jiggy in the nick of time, if any of these steps are compromised it’s likely that you will fail. Keep in mind that this is one of the hardest Jiggies in the game and it will require you to practice.

If you do Flip Flap in time you’ll end up collecting the Jiggy (3) and beating one of the most difficult challenges in the game, congratulations! From here you’ll need to drop down from the pillar to the south in order to collect 3 notes (47) sitting on the ground just behind it. After you’ve done that let’s walk north toward the area with Gruntilda’s Castle and the fallen King Jingaling Head. Approach the King Jingaling Head and perform a Flip Flap to land on his eye. Execute a second Flip Flap to access the ledge above harboring a single note (48), make sure that you watch out for the Gruntling.

On the current ledge you’ll be able to see a Jinjo surrounded by a roaring flame to the right. Unfortunately for the poor fellow there’s nothing we can do about rescuing it at this point in the game as we’re lacking certain abilities, so we’ll have to just ignore it for now and watch it burn. Continue to the left to pick up another note (49) and then drop down to Honey B’s Roof to grab the next Hollow Honey Comb piece (6). Once you’ve picked it up head north to get back onto the ledge and then keep walking to the left, collecting 3 more notes (52) as you do so.

A Great Leap Of Faith

Once you reach the ledge jump over it and continue to the left until you see a Jiggy suspended over the waterfall. This is one of the easiest Jiggies in the game, just Feathery Flap across the water and try your best not to fall in and you’ll get the Jiggy (4). From here walk to the left and grab the single note (53) behind the Whiplash, and then take it out with a Rolling Attack. Once you’ve destroyed it, head south to collect 2 more notes (55). Jump down from the ledge and collect the 3 notes (58) lining the sand southward.

Now you can stomp into the swamp

Destroy the WhipLash ahead and continue down to the south and to the left making sure to avoid the poisonous green water that surrounds this area. Once you reach the end of the path you’ll find a giant Stump with a gaping maw, perhaps warped into such an expression from the incredibly noxious stench within… Without Wading Boots, or even Gas masks the Bear and Bird duo are ill prepared for the mess they’ll get themselves into while touring around in the next world. Welcome to Bad Magic Bayou, plug your nose and enter inside.
