Banjo-Tooie Cheat Codes

If you’ve explored Mayahem Temple, you’ve likely come across the “Code Chamber” – a large room featuring a prominent letter board. If you haven’t, you can find the area by using Mumbo-Jumbo’s magic to raise the Golden Goliath in Mayahem Temple, and then controlling it to kick open the nearest door along the wall to travel into Jade Snake Grove. Take the set of stairs descending to the right, and the next set of stairs up just to the left of Humba Wumba’s Wigwam and you’ll spot a pyramid structure guarded by two Sput-Sputs. Approach the bottom of the pyramid and you’ll see the entrance has been blocked by a large door – give it a kick and you’ll open up the Code Chamber.

As the name implies, you can use the board to enter in cheat codes to unlock bonus features and other goodies such as unlimited items and invulnerability. There are five codes which can be unlocked with Cheato Pages, though you’ll find they can be unlocked illegitimately along with 9 other codes by typing them in as they appear on this page.

As soon as you’ve learned the “Egg-Aiming” technique after meeting Jamjars for the first time, you’ll need to stand on the central pad and use your cross-hairs to carefully aim at the board to spell out the cheat code. Once you’ve typed in ‘CHEATO’, you’ll see that the board stops keeping track of your letters, and will only verify each code when you’ve reached the end. After you’ve enabled a code, you’ll find a list inside an alcove on the right side of the chamber – interacting with the list will permit you to toggle the cheats on and off at your discretion.
