The Final Transformation…

Once you emerge back into the chilly air, we’ll Flip Flip up to the ledge above. Continue north and jump up the next ledge making sure to avoid the Biggafoot on this platform. Once you’ve done that hop up to the next platform and then head left until you make it back to the Bee Hive. From here we’ll continue left, Flip Flapping over the Skidoo Cave and avoiding the Blizzard on top then execute a Feathery Flap to the left and land on an ice float. Get some running speed and jump to the next platform to your left and finally finish by hopping to the ice float with the Ice Eggs on top. After you’ve done that we’ll Feathery Flap back onto the land to our left and use a Flip Flap to get ontop of the icy area where we set off the Firecracker Barrel.
From here continue left until you reach the other side and then go north to enter Mumbo’s Pad.

Mumbo’s Pad

Once inside, carry onto the north and speak with Mumbo. Mumbo will gratefully take the Totem and ask if you’d like to change into something. Press A to confirm. After Mumbo takes you back to the center of his Pad you’ll notice the final transformation and arguably the best in all of Banjo-Kazooie; The Tank! Select the Tank and let Mumbo do his stuff, once the transformation is complete you’ll be able to use Banjo-Tanks strongest attack; The Tank Shot which can obliterate any enemy with a single blast! Once you’ve gotten familiar with the controls, leave Mumbo’s Pad.

Freezing Furnace

Head south from Mumbo’s Pad and you’ll encounter the Blizzard, while the Blizzard won’t manage to pull us in given our heavy-duty armor, we’ll still take damage if we collide with it. Head to the left around the icy structure and north once you reach the other side, feel free to use the Tank Shot on the Gruntling ahead, and then approach the grey Tank Door at the end of the path. By firing a Tank Shot in the middle of the target the Tank Door will blast open, let’s venture on in then.

Grunty Industries

It’s the return of the noxious green goop! No need to fear this time however, as Tank-Banjo is fully equipped to take on most toxic of hazards without affecting his health in the slightest. From the entrance, we’ll head to the right and collect two notes (98), then head to the south after the Shock Spring Pad switch to grab our next note (99) as well as the final Jinjo (5) of Freezing Furnace. From here we’ll head north and collect final note (100) in the game ahead before blasting through the next Tank Door with our Tank Shot.

Lava Jetty

The room ahead is filled to the brim with poisonous gases; though there isn’t anything to worry about as Tank Banjo’s armor is completely invulnerable to it. Despite this, you still may have a little trouble conquering this room. To the north of your current location lies a series of 22 floating platforms that bridge the gap to the other side of the room. If you attempt to cross over to the other side via the tiles you’ll find that they’ll erode into nothingness as soon as you pass over them; therein lies the puzzle. You’ll need to cross the Jetty by using each tile platform only once, if you leave even a single tile floating over the Jetty then you will be unable to earn your reward.

It’s very easy to get yourself trapped during this puzzle as the tiles – while they must be removed – offer as your only way across to the other side of the room. It may take some figuring, but if you keep at it and try out different routes and strategies you should manage to devise a route that is best for you. Once you’ve managed to clear all of the platforms your reward will appear amidst the noxious fog just in front of the exit. Drive onto the other side and pick up the Jiggy (9), then use your Tank Shot to blast through the Tank Door that blocks the exit.

Grunty Industries

Once you’ve gone through the Tank Door you’ll find yourself back in Grunty Industries, just head to the left and blast through the last Tank Door to find yourself back outside in Freezing Furnace.

Freezing Furnace

From the Tank Door find your way back to Mumbo’s Pad by heading south, left around the icy structure and north once you reach the other side.

Mumbo’s Pad

Though we’d love to take on Grunty as Tank Banjo and give the hag a taste of Tank Shot, we’ll have to transform back into the Bear and Bird duo to acquire our last Jiggy. Let’s approach Mumbo and ask to transform back into our normal selves, he’ll respond by leading you back to the middle of the room. From here choose the Bear transformation as Mumbo gets down with his shaman self and wait for the transformation to complete. Once the transformation is finished we’ll head back out into the chilling world of Freezing Furnace.

Freezing Furnace

From Mumbo’s Pad let’s head south taking care to avoid the Blizzard and then head to the right until we met up with the stream past the Igloo. Once you’ve done that use a Feathery Flap to cross over the stream and then follow the fence until you reach the Stinglash protecting the Bee Hive. Defeat the Stinglash and use a Flip Flap to get up to the area to your right. Continue right and avoid the Biggafoot that patrols the area and then head south avoiding the second Biggafoot here, once you’ve done that drop down to the entrance of Grunty Industries and enter inside.

Grunty Industries

As soon as you enter Grunty Industries face toward the right and get ready for some more perilous platforming. You’ll have to wait for the platforms to ease out from the wall and then hop across them just last time until you’re able to reach the other side. Once you’ve done that then you’re free to head off to the south and ready yourself for the conveyor belt exercise. When you’re ready, run and jump across to the conveyor belt to the left and then enter inside the Furnace Stores by dropping through the hole you’ve made with the Bill Drill.

Furnace Stores

From the entrance, follow the boxes heading south and then head right making sure to avoid the Boom Boxes below. Once you’ve crossed over to the crates on the right, locate the Jinjo Oracle statue and drop down to collect the last Jiggy (10) in Freezing Furnace. The Jinjo Oracle will impart us with it’s wisdom praising us for our seeking skills and best wishes for facing off against Gruntilda. From here let’s locate the entrance back to Grunty Industries and leave the Furnace Stores behind.

Grunty Industries

Once we’ve found our way back to the surface, let’s hitch a ride on the conveyor belt and head to the right where we’ll Flip Flap onto the ledge above. After you’ve done that it’s just a quick jump over the moving platforms and we’ll exit Grunty Industries for good as we leave into the chilly atmosphere of Freezing Furnace.

Freezing Furnace

Once you emerge back into the frigid air, we’ll Flip Flip up to the ledge above. Continue north and jump up the next ledge making sure to avoid the Biggafoot on this platform. Once you’ve done that hop up to the next platform and then head left until you make it back to the Bee Hive. From here we’ll continue left, Flip Flapping over the Skidoo Cave and avoiding the Blizzard ontop then execute a Feathery Flap to the left and land on an ice float. Get some running speed and jump to the next platform to your left and finally finish by hopping to the ice float with the Ice Eggs on top. After you’ve done that we’ll Feathery Flap back onto the land to our left and then jump off the ledge to the south in front of the Igloo. Once we touch down onto the land below it’s a simple matter of heading left until we see the entrance back to Spiral Mountain and heading through.

Next: Backtracking to the Bayou.
