It’s by the Pier where she’ll appear

Let’s descend both sets of stairs by Mumbo’s Pad and then continue some ways eastward until we bump into a horde of checkered picnic tables. At this point we’ll be as far east in Spiller’s Harbor as possible and you should manage to spot the railing perimeter to the right. Avoid the Germuloid in this area and then hop onto the table closest to the Café door. Execute your Talon Trot ability while on top of the table and leap to the roof in one clean motion, you should manage to land on the slanted roof over the door. Once you’ve done that, collect the 2 notes (46) and enter the Café via the large sunroof.

Tip-Tup Suite

Once you’ve entered through the top of the Café you’ll find yourself in the most luxurious of rooms offered at Spiller’s Harbor; the prestigious Tip-Tup Suite. While the quirky green turtle is nowhere to be found in this adventure, the items in the room are in plenty supply, so let’s get ready to ransack this room! From the drawer, leap south towards the bed and collect the 4 notes (50) on top of the covers. Jump off the bed to the south and then head to the right towards the couch in the corner. Hidden behind it’s purple upholstery is the next Silver Coin. Jump over the cushions in order to collect the Coin (4).

Once you’ve polished off the coin from lint and cheeto dust we’ll finish our quest to clean out the Suite. From behind the couch go northward to the top of the room to use the Shock Spring Pad. Make sure to watch out for the Chompa in the Dresser and the Gruntlings on the ground. Once you’ve dispatched of the Gruntlings and you’ve taken out the Chompa with a Rat-A-Tat Rap, you can use the Shock Spring pad to reach the top of the dresser where you’ll find the next Jinjo (2) has been precariously placed. Once you’ve rescued it, head back down to the left and exit using a Flip Flap on the drawer to reach the window.

Spiller’s Harbor

Once you arrive back in the sobering world of Spiller’s Harbor, head to your immediate south until you bump into the railing around the pier. You should manage to locate a lone Shock Spring Pad placed in front of the Lighthouse at the end of the pier. Execute the Shock Spring Pad ability whilst on the pad to access a platform on the side of the Lighthouse. This platform hosts a second Shock Spring Pad which you can use to gain access to the final platform on the Lighthouse which features an Egg Toll just in front. Fire a single Ice Egg into the toll and you’ll activate the Witchy Warp below, drop down from the Lighthouse and warp to the next face off against Gruntilda!

Mecha-Suit Mega Shoot-Out: Gruntilda Boss Fight

Once you arrive at the edge of the pier Grunty will emerge from the sickly seas of Spiller’s Harbor, eager to use her Mecha Suit to attack Banjo and Kazooie on the shore! Equipped with a healthy supply of Ice Eggs, Banjo and Kazooie will have to take Grunty down from afar all the while dodging her wicked spells which gradually travel faster the more damage the Hag accumulates. At the start of the battle you’ll notice a few key spots on Grunty’s Mecha-Suit that are colored red, sticking out from the metallic silver everywhere else. These are Grunty’s weak spots and you have to hit them for massive damage.

Once you’ve hit a specific weak spot 3 times, it will fall off and Grunty will attack more quickly as more weight falls off. Her weak points are located on her right hand, right shoulder, chin, left hand, stomach and hat. You’ll have to eliminate each of these parts to defeat Gruntilda. While there isn’t really a strategy to this battle as everyone will find hitting a certain part easier than the next, I would advise leaving her stomach plate or chin for last, as they will for the most part remain stationary and easy to hit. Try to get rid of her hands and hat first as they can become troublesome later on.

Once you’ve managed to use your Ice Eggs to remove 3 parts of Grunty’s Mecha-Suit the hag will take to the air, floating over the harbor water while lobbing spells toward the shore. If you’ve managed to clear off the more difficult spots early on in the battle – mainly her hands and hat – than you’ll be left with an easier job of hitting the parts which remain still during the battle. Keep in mind that you’re free to reload your arsenal of Ice Eggs by passing over the nests situated on either side of the pier. You may also use your Ice Eggs to pelt Gruntilda’s oncoming spells out of the air which can come in handy.

This challenge can become very difficult, especially near the end when you’re expected to avoid an onslaught of quick fire spells and return fire with your own supply of Ice Eggs. Though if you’ve managed to keep a level head during the removal of her various parts then the battle shouldn’t cause you too much trouble in the long run. Once you’ve managed to clear off all of the remaining parts then Grunty will admit defeat and take off into the sky, adding in that during the final battle she’ll be sure to use full power. We’re shaking Gruntilda, just like the remains of the Mecha-Suit struggling to take you away.

Spiller’s Harbor

Once you’ve found your way back to the mainland, you’ll find that Grunty has left some rewards in her wake. Turn around to collect the Jiggy (3) and Mumbo Totem (1) that you’ve been awarded. Mumbo’s help in Spiller’s Harbor will be instrumental to our success as we’ll need the help of the transformations to acquire 4 of the Harbor’s Jiggies. From the Lighthouse we’ll head back to Mumbo’s by heading north toward the Café and left until we arrive back to the entrance of the level. From here we’ll go north up both sets of stairs making sure to avoid or defeat the Germuloids that await you at the top, and then heading into Mumbo’s Pad.
