A Quick Reunion!

Now that you’ve beaten Grunty, Kazooie has been freed from her imprisonment. After a quick reunion Kazooie explains that Grunty is doing everything in her power to change the course of time to ensure that they never meet in the future. But now that the duo is back together it’s likely that Grunty won’t get too far with her maniacal scheme. With the bird back in the pack, Kazooie is ready to kick some warty butt, but not before adding some extra height to Banjo’s jumping ability.

Peaking your Potential: Flip Flap Ability

By holding L and then pressing the A button you’ll crouch down and allow Kazooie to pop out with her wings outstretched and preform a back-flip; doubling Banjo’s gained height in the end. You can also use the Control Pad while in the air to point yourself in the desired direction you’d like to flip to. This should come in handy later… Now that we’ve gotten Kazooie back safe and sound let’s leave this dim grotto and head back to Breegul Beach by using the Witchy Warp.

GRUNTY’S QUARRY

First of, let’s get that Jiggy that we earned from defeating Grunty; we’ll head north from the Witchy Warp and jump back onto the ledge harboring the Switch that we Pack Whacked. From here just jump to the left and collect the Jiggy (2) waiting for you on the top of the ladder.

Gruntlings and Girders

Let’s drop down to the ground and collect our next note (28) before heading north and climbing up the next ladder. Once we’ve reached the top we’ll jump the gap to our left and land on the platform. Let’s collect the note (29) as well as the nest of eggs making sure to avoid being hit by the Gruntling towers.
After you’ve carried on as far as you can to the left from this platform you’ll notice that a normal jump just won’t cut it to gain access to the next ledge. Let’s execute a Flap Flip instead and we’ll be able to scale it entirely. Collect the egg nest and slowly edge yourself to the lip of the ledge facing south.

Very carefully push yourself off of the ledge and you’ll fall to a lower platform where you’ll find your next note (30). Carry onto the end of the platform and use your Flap Flip to gain access to the top of the large drilling machine where you’ll collect your next note (31). From here you’ll have to drop down onto the conveyor belt to your right, and take out the Gruntling using your Pack Whack or Roll Attack. Once you’ve done that just carry onto the right and execute another Flip Flap to gain access to the drilling platform which harbors a Jiggy (3). Let’s hop back down to the conveyor belt once more and find the center. Once you’ve found the center drop down and you’ll find a string of 3 notes (34) leading you back to the Quarry entrance. Once you’ve collected them let’s head to the south and use a Flip Flap to gain access to the entrance, drop down the hole to find your way back to Breegul Beach.

Breegul Blaster: Egg Firing Ability

From the entrance of Grunty’s Quarry, let’s head to the right in order to locate Bozzeye’s next mole hill buried in the sand. Our current collection at 178 will trump the required 80. Step in front of the mole hill and press A. Once Bozzeye sees that you’ve found Kazooie he’ll tell you about your first collaborative ability: Egg Firing. This move will allow you to use Kazooie akin to a rifle by pulling her out of your pack and tucking her under your arm. From this vantage point Kazooie will be able to fire an assortment of eggs out from her beak, which allows you to fire in any direction that you choose to face. In order to get into this mode of attack, hold L and press B, press B again to fire a single egg. Pressing L a second time will put Kazooie back in the backpack allowing you continue on as you normally would.

On the way to the Quay

Once Bozzeye has taught Banjo and Kazooie the Breegul Blaster ability he’ll mention some “strange goin’s-ons that the end of the stone quay” to the right. Sounds like an invitation for investigation to me! Let’s leave the molehill and sandy terrain behind and jump up onto the stone Quay. By following the Quay to its end we’ll collect 3 notes (37) along the way, once you reach the Skull tile at the end of the Quay, step on it to enter first person breegul firing mode as you face out to the waters…

Pelting the Pirate Poltergeist

The fog out to sea is getting thick and the waters getting choppy; there’s a storm brewing in this wake, and spirits sail the sea once more…
Far out into the waters a ship will slowly come into focus, its hazy outline will come into view and reveal that it’s a glowing green ghost ship!
From the stern of the ship the skeletal captain will stick his head out and accuse Banjo of trying to steal his gold. Ending with a threat the captain ducks back into his transparent vessel and the battle begins!

You’ll need to use your control pad to move either left or right, as the captain will begin firing cannonballs at the wharf which are unavoidable unless you get moving. Once he’s exhausted his 3 shots he’ll pop his head out from the bow of the ship and begin to laugh. Use your crosshairs by manipulating the control pad to locate his laughing face and when locked on press the B button to fire an egg. Once the captain is hit he’ll do a few flips before ducking back into his ship and starting phase two.

This time he’ll fire off 2 shots at once which will land on either side of the wharf so stay centered and you should be fine. After that he’ll fire 3 cannonballs, one to the left of the quay, another to the center, then the last to the right, so move accordingly to avoid be hit!
Once he’s finished firing he’ll pop his ugly mug underneath the stern giving you ample time to lock on and fire a second egg, causing him to reel back again. Once the captain retreats back to his ship he’ll bring out the big guns…

First he’ll fire a shot out the center, but at the same time he’ll shoot off 2 cannonballs on either side of the wharf at around the same time. This means you’ll have little reaction time to avoid all 3 shots which cover the whole of the dock. In order to avoid the shots, you’ll find that the cannonballs on either side will collide just a little bit earlier than the one to the center. Wait until the cannonballs land to the right or left and retreat that way to avoid the one coming down to the center. The next shot he’ll repeat this strategy, this time reversing the order the cannonballs fall in.

In this case, he’ll fire off the cannonballs on either side first, and then he’ll fire off the single shot to the center of the dock. This means you’ll have to stay toward the either side to avoid the center shot, and then just afterwards move back into the center to avoid the side shots.
After he’s finished with this attack, he’ll pop his skull at the top of the mast, raise your crosshair upwards and fire the final fatal shot to defeat him. After cursing you, his ship will sink into the deep blue where he’ll check the rest of his treasure at the bottom of the sea. Disaster averted.

Back on the Quay a Jiggy (4) will appear right beside the Skull tile, collect it and head back over to the end of the Quay and position yourself in the lower right hand corner.
From here. Jump to the pink platform in the water and pick up the next note (38), jump to the next platform to the north to pick up the next note (39). Jump off to the larger platform to the north to locate Bozzeye’s next mole hill. At this point we should have a total of 183 notes which allows us to learn our next move at 110 notes.

Jaunty Jumping: Feathery Flap Ability

With Kazooie providing you with extra height in your jumps, it’s time to learn an ability that will let her provide with extra horizontal reach in your jumping ability as well. Bozzeye will tell you that you can press A to jump regularly, and then press A again to have Kazooie pop out and flap her wings to get you extra distance. This is especially handy when you’re crossing over a large gaps or other obstacles. Before parting, Bozzeye mentions a Jiggy on a pillar to the south that will require the Feathery Flap Ability, duly noted soil breath. From here we’ll jump off onto the next to the south and finally to the last right beside the Quay. Let’s get that Jiggy on the pillar Bozzeye was talking about shall we? From the rock at the Quay jump to the south to collect your next note (40) on the platform. Turn back around and make your way back to the Quay. Perform a Flap Flip to reach the top of it and follow it back down to the shore. From the mole hill where Bozzeye taught us the Breegul Firing ability we’ll just head south by following the sand and picking up 3 notes (43) as we do so. Once we reach the end we’ll jump up to the pink ledge to the right, collecting the 3 notes (46) on top of it.

Perilous Pillar Platforming

As we continue to the right we’ll manage to spot a skinny pillar in the water that harbors an egg nest. We’ll need to execute some precision platforming if we want to land on the pillar and avoid the drink and the Shrapnel below. If you do manage to fall in though, just head up to the north and get back on the Stone Quay to work your way back to the pillars to the south. Once you’ve planned your jump let’s use our Feathery Flap to clear the gap.

Once we’ve managed to flap our way to the pillar we’ll begin planning our way to the next pillar just to the right. Once you’ve lined up the pillars and you’re ready to jump execute your Feathery Flap again and be sure to collect the next note (47) as we touch down on the second pillar, all the while avoiding feathery flapping into the surf.

One more pillar to go yet! Try not to fall off into the water or all your hard work will be wasted. From our current pillar we’ll have to Feathery Flap diagonally to the north east in order to reach the final pillar which is located in the upper right hand corner.
Give yourself some running room and then soar off into the air to the last pillar, once you touch down collect the Jiggy (5) and you’ll have completed the pillar gauntlet.

Instead of just jumping on the pillars in reverse order, let’s jump off the pillar and swim to the south. You should manage to spot the next Jinjo (3) stuck on a chunk of island in the middle of the sea. Let’s rescue the Jinjo from his deserted island and carry onto the north until we locate the stone wharf again. Let’s execute a Flip Flap to get back onto the stone surface and carry down to the left until we leave the quay. Once we’ve touched back down on the warm sand, let’s locate Mumbo’s Pad again, it’s just left of the entrance to Grunty’s Quarry.

Peaking your Potential

Once you’ve reached Mumbo’s Pad let’s revisit the White Breegul we helped out earlier by carrying on just to the left. From the tiny hole you should spot a series of ledges just to the left of the White Breegul. Jump up to reach the first ledge and then again to collect the single note (48). As you jump up to the next ledge you’ll notice another Blue Shell (3), pick it up as well as the next note (49). Head south to collect the next note (50) and then to the right to climb the vines that crawl up the side of the rock. Collect the 3 notes at the top (53) and continue into the underbrush by heading north.
