Jet Force Gemini Rare Retrospective

With the tyrant Mizar conquering new worlds by the day, interstellar war looms ever closer. From their patrol orbit in a nearby galaxy, the Jet Force Gemini team are all too aware of this – but their pleas for the authorities to send in reinforcements fall on deaf ears time and time again. And now, with the borders of their own galactic jurisdiction breached and their Tribal allies enslaved, things are starting to get a little too personal…

A wild space blaster on a traditionally epic scale, Jet Force Gemini chronicles the journey of Juno, Vela and their trusty sidekick Lupus into the heart of a hostile galaxy as they struggle to bring down Mizar once and for all. Boasting a range of full 3D environments bristling with hordes of insectoid enemies, spectacular gunfights and essential extras such as cinematic level intro cut scenes, a wealth of secret zones and both co-operative and deathmatch multiplayer modes, it’s an adventure you’re not going to forget in a hurry.

Massive bosses and swarming enemy squadrons bar your way, their AI light years ahead of classic shoot-’em-up foes of years past. Realtime lighting and dynamic reflection routines bump up the realism of the terrain to a new level, while puzzles and obstacles punctuate the blasting action, scattering brainpower into the orgy of firepower. All this and more lies in wait as you help each JFG team member clear a path through to Mizar’s headquarters, where the fate of races and galaxies will be decided…

Jet Force Gemini was first shown on video at the 1998 E3 show in Atlanta (where it received press comments ranging from “absolutely stunning” to “could be the most exhilarating fun ever”), and resurfaced for a second public appearance nearer home at the ECTS in London shortly afterwards. You haven’t got long to psyche yourselves up for the biggest bug-splattering action fest of the millennium before it hits you later this year…
