MISSION 6: ST. PETERSBURG – STAGE 1: STATUE PARK

Background: Following the Severnaya incident, MI6 has lost track of the Pirate helicopter. Presumably the bugging device has been located and destroyed. Natalya Simonova, who returned to the St. Petersburg against our advice, has gone missing. We can only assume that she has been abducted by the Janus syndicate in a belated attempt to cover their tracks.

Objectives:
1- Contact Valentin (Agent)
2- Confront and Unmask Janus (Agent)
3- Locate the Pirate Helicopter (Agent)
4- Rescue Natalya (Agent)
5- Find the Flight Recorder (Agent)

M Briefing: The situation is critical, 007. Janus know we’re on to them and they’re taking control. We’re going to circumvent the usual channels on this one. I’ve arranged contact with an ex-KGB agent, Valentin Zukovsky, in Statue Park, St. Petersburg. He claims he can set up a meeting with Janus. Apparently, the head of Janus wants to see you in person. Frankly, I’m uneasy about this but it’s all we’ve got to go on.

Q Branch: No gizmos this time, old boy.

Moneypenny: Hmm, a damsel in distress. Just be careful with that chopper, James.

MISSION 6: ST. PETERSBURG – STAGE 1: STATUE – MAPS

These declassified maps from MI6 give a satellite view of Statue Park – our intelligence has also taken great care to provide internal blueprints for any area that our cameras haven’t been able to peer inside of, giving you complete visibility of every location in your mission. Crucial provisions like Body Armor and hidden Weapons have also been detailed inside the dossier, along with other points of interest during the assignment.
Click here to expand the dossier and take a closer look at the maps provided within.
You may use these maps before the mission starts to familiarize yourself with the region, and refer to them throughout as you need them.
Good luck, 007!

STATUE PARK, ST. PETERSBURG

From the top of the hill, walk downward into the park. There will be soldiers afoot, so watch your back and keep an eye open for enemies around corners. Make your way through the statue park until you find Valentin. You will find him in a big metal container that has a strange red tint to it. It will be on your left, across from the giant “CCCP” letters. All you have to do is face him and wait for him to confirm your confrontation with Janus. He will leave and disappear.

The meeting is set. Exit the metal box and continue forward in the stage. Go as far as you can, until you reach a large statute of Stalin. Go up to it and stand there for a second. Some figures will walk out from the distance. This is Janus. Make sure to put away your weapon at this point and don’t approach him. Listen through the whole dialogue as important plot points are discovered. Once he leaves, his guards will try to take you out. Take cover behind the statue as you kill them. When the path is clear, grab their automatic shotguns and make your way to the entrance.

Janus operatives will flood in, but with the automatic shotgun, this should be little trouble. Find the entrance of the level, and you will notice that the helicopter is here! There is a bomb on it though, and no defuser in your pockets. Approach the unconscious Natalya; she will get up and run away with you before the helicopter explodes.

Before you leave, you need one thing: the black box. The flight recorder contains all the information of what happened in this flying machine. The recorder was tossed back into the park in the explosion. With Natalya safe, venture back into the park to find the oddly-colored orange box. Not only does it stick out among the gray statues, the recorder will only be found in the front section of the level before the first bottleneck. It will not be very hard to find.

Recover the flight recorder and head back to the front gate. You will be met by the Russian government. You are a spy, after all, and Russians don’t take kindly to spies.
