Microsoft’s keynote speech falls flat

Microsoft have just finished their keynote speech for E3 2012 and I don’t think I’m being unfair when I say that I think it failed to deliver on a variety of levels, but most notable to me – despite having fingers and toes crossed – was the conspicuous absence of any Rare games. Granted, there may yet be an appearance still to come on the show floor as the event progresses, for which I remain ever-optimistic, but if Microsoft were really looking to push a new Rare game, it doesn’t take a genius to work out that the feature presentation would be the time to do it, yeah?

Halo 4, Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon and CoD: Black Ops 2 were amongst the notable highlights but I felt very underwhelmed by it all. Still, there’s always next year …
