CHALLENGE 9: SMASH THE STUDY, BUDDY!

Scenario: As the title suggests the Study is in desperate need of some dis-repair. You’ll need to utilize the various objects in the room as well as your own attacks to wreak havoc on the whole Study as quickly as possible. The more damage you cause to the Study and in turn the Barons’ wallet, the higher your reward in the end. Babs Buffbrass certainly wouldn’t approve of this Bonus Challenge…

Strategy: While this Bonus Challenge presents itself as though you could just let loose like a Bull in a China Shop and hope for the best, there needs to be method to your madness if you desire Platinum Prizes. The timer for this challenge is going to be tight, and even with the added ‘Extra Time’ Soup Tins you’ll find that it does little to alleviate the sensitive situation, but if you follow this strategy to a tee, you’ll find that you’ll manage enough damage every time. As you start off you’ll need to execute the most crucial step of the destruction plan; you’ll spot a single Potted Plant if you whip the camera around to your immediate left. Grab the Potted Plant and head toward the large desk, found on the left side of the room surrounded by windows. Here comes the tricky bit. You’ll need to line yourself up with the window directly behind the desk and then step slightly to the left so that the Desk Chair, Small Vase and Window are all within range. Toss your pot toward the window from this vantage point and you should manage to have the Pot bounce off the desk, then the chair and finally ends its path of destruction at the window. If you’ve done this correctly, the Potted Plant will have whipped through the Small Vase ($100) atop the desk, bounded through the Desk ($5,000), destroyed the Chair ($100), hit a second Small Vase ($100) on the Window sill along with the Rare Game Designs ($100) before smashing the Window ($500) at the end, effectively breaking the Potted Plant you’ve thrown ($100). This should equate out to $6,250 in damages, if you’ve received anything less then it’s not too late to restart the challenge, better now than coming just short after tearing the room apart. Once the price is right you’ll find that the Small Vase atop the Desk contained an Extra Time Soup Tin which now lays at your feet. Pick it up to extend the timer to around 32 seconds and then head toward the chairs surrounding a small table to your right. Use your bare hands to take out the first Chair ($100)before working away on the second Chair ($100). Approach the table in the center and you’ll spot a few Decanters and a collection of Bottles. Avoid destroying the Bottles at all costs, but do take out the Decanters ($150). Once you’ve done that, grab the Bottles and position yourself toward the large glass bookcase harboring a Mumbo Statue at its’ base. Thanks to the Bottles you’ll be able to bust up the Bookcase from afar and reach extra pricey areas otherwise unreachable. You’ll want to work from the right side of the Bookcase to the left, using the first three Bottles ($30) to take out the Mumbo Trophy ($250) and the two Glass Bookcases above it ($500), then using the last three Bottles ($30) to destroy the two taller Bookcases to the left (200) and Small Vase ($100) just beside the Bookcase which offers up our second ‘Extra Time’ Soup Tin. At this point you should be around 17 seconds, so run over to the Soup Tina and you should manage to extend it to 25 seconds with $7,710 worth of damage. Once you’ve done that run over to the right side of the Bookcase and you’ll spot an ‘Interesting’ Brown Vase just beside it. Pick up the Brown Vase and toss it between the fireplace and the large Trophy to the right, you should manage to take out the Trophies ($500) on top before the damage reaches over to the Championship Trophy ($200) on the right side, destroying the Interesting Vase ($200) in the process. Avoid destroying the Large Rare Vase to the left of this area as it harbors a Zombie inside and use your bare hands to bust up the Dirty Drawers ($300) where the large Trophy once was and you’ll bring the running total to $8,910 leaving you with about 14 seconds. You’ll need to rush over toward the desk on the opposite side of the room where you’ll spot an ‘Extra Time’ Soup Tin that we previously uncovered from the Small Vase via the tossed Potted Plant. After you’ve picked it up your timer should be around 20 seconds, so use this time to pick up the small Chest of Drawers to the left and smash it into the Cupboard in the corner. Doing so should cause both Cupboard Doors ($200) to break off, destroying the Decanters ($150) inside along with the Chest of Drawers ($200) itself bringing the grand total to $9,460. With the fleeting seconds you have remaining, work your way to the other side of the Desk and use your bare hands to dent in the Safe ($500) found in the corner. With your last act, pick up the television found beside the Safe and throw it into the window just overhead. You’ll wind up destroying the Decanters ($150), Rare Game Designs ($250), Another Window ($500) before the Unknown Brand TV ($200) explodes, bringing your total just over the goal at $11,060.
